Sea fishing is also possible in the harbour. At night, during summer season, you can enjoy walking along the marina with plenty of entertainment and shopping. The town’s top attraction is the Botanic Gardens and Summer Palace of the Romanian Queen Marie. The stone building and gardens are beautifully maintained.

CAPE KALIAKRA with it’s wonderful views and stalls selling local craft is a must place to visit. You can relax over a drink or meal at the restaurant overlooking the sea and you may be lucky to get a glimpse of the dolphins.
The Cape was the site of an ancient fortress, and some of the remains can still be seen. There are also some artefacts displayed in the museum.
KAVARNA is a fast developing sea resort. Rich in history. This clean and welcoming town has preserved it’s authentic appearance in spite of it’s rapid development as a tourist centre and catering for the new influx of golfers to the area. Kavarna is famous for it’s Art and Music Festivals during the summer.
DOBRICH is the nearest major town to Balchik. Amidst the hustle and bustle of this centre is the historic old town full of little shops and boutiques displaying a selection of local craft and pottery, etc. Dobrich has numerous museums and several art galleries, it also boasts a variety of clubs, pubs and good quality restaurants. A three course meal with wine/beer will cost about £8.00.
VARNA. The gem of the Bulgarian Black Sea. During the summer season the sunshine allows 10 – 11 hours of sunbathing. The sea is amazingly calm and free from dangerous tides. A visit to Varna would not be complete without a stroll through Seaside Park, the biggest park in Varna situated by the beach. Within the park area one can find the Seaside Baths, the Navy Museum, the Aquarium and Dolphinarium with amusing shows, also the Astronomical Observatory. You are spoilt for choice as to where to eat but recommended is Captain Cook’s if you like fish dishes. Before you leave Varna at night take a look at the lit up Cathedral, it’s awesome.
